What`s it all about ??
Come and join me (Nicola) for a series of half days in my farmhouse kitchen and learn how to cook my favourite Breton recipes. All are quick simple, use only quality fresh ingredients and taste fantastic. Once you`re back home you can give all your friends and family an authentic taste of Brittany. No preparation or experience is needed, just bring yourself. Both ladies and gents are welcome !
I have always been passionate about food. On this very relaxed and fun cookery course you will learn how to prepare traditional Breton dishes that you`ll then be able to cook back in England. All of the recipes will fit in with your busy home life but will be deliciously different so you will be able to impress all your friends and family with your French cuisine ! |

The Ingredients
Good quality ingredients are vital. I use as many organic products as I can starting with the hand harvested sea salt from the Geurande in the Loire valley to all my fruit and veg and even organic farm beef. The quality of the natural ingredients makes t all the difference
Living in rural Brittany it is easy for us to source local ingredients. Milk, cheese and the super rich cream are sourced from an organic dairy in the next village and our meat also comes from an organic farm just 5km away.
We even have hens scratching around the garden so fresh free range eggs are always available… but I have been known to start making a cake only to realise that I am an egg short and then to hover next to then henhouse waiting for a hen to lay an egg !! |
|
I am lucky to have the space and time to have an organic vegetable garden but I do cheat and buy some vegetables from the local organic farmer. He seems to get crops a month earlier than me… and sometimes I can’t wait any longer for the first carrot of the season

Having said all that, it takes time to source local ingredients and the pace of life today simply does not allow the luxury of spending half a day trailing round farm shops.
Thankfully good quality ingredients are also readily available from most English and French supermarkets which makes cooking great food even easier !
